SYNERGY HomeCare Opens Newest Location in Chattanooga

February 09, 2024 // FranchiseMarketingSolutions.com // Tempe, Ariz. – SYNERGY HomeCare has announced its newest franchise in the Volunteer State, SYNERGY HomeCare of Chattanooga.

The company is led by a pair of couples who are very familiar with the SYNERGY Homecare brand, Mark and Lisa Piegza and Bob and Melissa Risk. The couples already own two SYNERGY HomeCare franchises in South Carolina.

Headquartered at 6441 Bonny Oaks Dr., Suite D in Chattanooga, TN., the company assists residents of Hamilton and Bradley counties with a wide variety of non-medical care options, from companion care to personal care and respite care.

The Risks and the Piegzas have learned the various intricacies of providing these services to aging communities, particularly for Baby Boomers.

Before they found themselves as the successful owners of a homecare franchise, the Piegzas were already acutely familiar with the demands of caregiving. Both Mark and Lisa worked as care providers for their aging parents and had personal experience with the process of employing non-medical in-home care for their loved ones. Once they moved their family to the Lowcountry, the couple knew that Lisa could use her empathy and Mark could use his 20 years of knowledge in finance to lead their own company for the betterment of their new community.

“Our experience with our parents really opened our eyes to how difficult it can be to find dependable, quality care for a loved one,” said Mark. “It was a process that we ourselves, and many others in our community, often underestimate until it’s time to actually do it for yourself. We felt this was where we could step in and make a difference. We became a one-stop-shop for all the non-medical caregiving needs of our community and it’s immensely gratifying to be able to simplify the caregiving process and reduce some of the stress that comes along with it.”

Joining them in the business endeavor are Bob and Melissa Risk, two 25-year insurance industry veterans with pre-existing knowledge of the complexities of insurance policies as well as business operations. Like the Piegzas, the Risks also had personal experience with caregiving responsibilities, as Bob’s father received 24/7 care and Melissa spent more than half the year as her mother’s primary caregiver.

“Our partnership with Mark and Lisa has been nothing short of harmonious,” said Bob. “The Piegzas complement mine and Melissa’s efforts perfectly and it gives us peace of mind knowing that nothing ever falls through the cracks. Both of our families have a personal attachment to this industry, and that’s why I believe our businesses have stood out for going above and beyond.”

Assisting them in the management of their Chattanooga office are Mark and Lisa’s daughter, Alexandra, and veteran care coordinator, Quinita Robinson. Robinson has a deep background in HR, office management, and care delegation. Alexandra, like her father, has a history in finance and also spent time helping her parents manage the day-to-day operations of their Lowcountry-based location.

The Piegzas and Risks identified Chattanooga as their next ideal business venture after recognizing that many of the area’s caregiving needs were going unmet. Many nearby families lack a local support system that can be provided by SYNERGY HomeCare’s staff. Local residents often rely on caregivers for assistance cooking, shopping, running errands, doing light housekeeping or going for walks. Some even require personal care such as help with bathing, dressing or using the toilet. They also offer Concierge Care, a hospital-to-home supportive program.
