The new venture is helmed by Hassan and Ebony Cox. Hassan, a former Chief Petty Officer, devoted twenty years to the U.S. Navy before obtaining a master’s degree in urban education and community counseling. He is affiliated with the American Legion, VFW, and Phi Theta Kappa. Ebony contributes her expertise in nursing and currently works as a nurse and physician recruiter at the Hampton Veterans Affairs Medical Center. They both place a high value on family time outside of their professional lives.
“Assisting others has been a constant motivation for me, throughout my naval service and subsequent career. Upon retirement, I spent a decade helping veterans as a Veterans Service Representative at the Virginia Department of Veteran Services. The similarities between this role and my service in the Navy made the transition to co-owning Blue Kangaroo Packoutz in Chesapeake/Norfolk a seamless fit,” shared Hassan Cox, co-owner of Blue Kangaroo Packoutz. “In addition to providing essential contents restoration services, I look forward to building lasting relationships with homeowners and business partners in our community.”
