The pioneering brand established in 1992 is widely considered to be one of the first and most influential franchises in the home improvement goods and services space.

Established in Orange County, Calif., by five partners who identified an opportunity to bring the latest products and personalized service directly to homeowners, Budget Blinds has grown into a network of 1,370 franchise territories serving more than 10,000 communities in the U.S., Canada and Mexico, and completing more than 45,000 window covering installations every week.

This year, Entrepreneur magazine ranked Budget Blinds #15 in its Franchise 500® ranking of global franchise brands, citing outstanding performance in unit growth, financial strength and stability, and brand power.

“Our 30-year Anniversary of Budget Blinds is a celebration of both our heritage and our vision for the future to continue evolving as pioneers leading in the home improvement space,” said Budget Blinds President Doug Phillip in a virtual message to franchisees, associates, vendors and partners entitled “Achieving Even More”, Budget Blinds’ theme for 2022.

Budget Blinds voluntarily cancelled its International Convention last week in Nashville, Tenn., as a response to the latest pandemic outbreak and to ensure the safety of the 1,000 franchisees and others scheduled to attend. In addition to Phillips’ virtual message, members of the Budget Blinds family will receive virtual versions of many of the workshops and presentations planned for the event.

“To put the Budget Blinds success story into perspective, less than 15% of all franchise businesses established in 1992 are still around today, and fewer than 2% reach 1,000 territories,” said Phillip. “We credit the tireless work of our franchisees, suppliers, agency partners, and Budget Blinds associates for making these milestones possible. Today truly represents a 30-year team effort.”

The growth of Budget Blinds also led to creation of Home Franchise Concepts® (HFC).

Budget Blinds’ 30th anniversary festivities kick-off with a January celebration for Budget Blinds franchisees, vendors and partners featuring commemorative merchandise and first-looks of new videos and other year-long brand and marketing initiatives.

The brand will culminate its 30th anniversary with a consumer promotion in October corresponding to its official start date in 1992. Franchisees will have the opportunity to leverage Budget Blinds’ 30th year locally and promote their offerings.
