Every year, Pool Scouts hosts a convention for our family of owners.

This year the Pool Scouts Franchise convention theme was Diving in Together, which centered around the Pool Scouts owners and corporate team diving in together to celebrate the wins from 2023, share ideas on improvements, and goals for 2024.

Russell began his career as a cell phone salesperson at Alltel immediately after graduating from college. After gaining experience in retail, he transitioned to SYNNEX, where he started as an inside sales representative. Over the course of a year, he worked in sales before shifting his focus to the Business Development division, concentrating on printers and supplies.

He excelled in this role for a couple of years before his next transition, this time into Product Management, where he steadily climbed the ranks. In his role as a Product Manager, Russell led a team of 16 associates for approximately 8 years. Seeking new challenges, he moved into Business Operations within the IT sector, where he contributed for 4 years. Pool Scouts is thrilled to announce our newest member of the Pool Scouts family: Shilpa Patel, who was awarded one franchise territory in Austin TX, closing out our Austin market!

Shilpa Patel’s professional journey has been marked by diverse experiences and a strong drive for growth and success. She realized her business-mindedness when she became a general manager, operating assisted living and memory care buildings. Running and operating such a complex operation 24/7 pushed her out of her comfort zone as she led five departments with a total of over 50 team members. In 2021, she became a Regional Director of Operations for seven senior living communities in Utah and Texas. Before moving into operations, she spent 20 years in sales, which allowed her to harness leadership skills and be fulfilled by the challenge of overcoming obstacles.

The pair are coming into business ownership with plenty of experience as current owners of a British Swim School, a franchise that provides swim lessons to people of all ages. Prior to this, they owned a small talent recruiting business and they are still involved in the agency today. Elyse has an extensive history in the pool world as she grew up competitively swimming as well as working for various water parks early in her career. She and Brandon are proud parents of an 8-year-old daughter and a 5-year-old son. We are excited to have this beautiful family on board and watch them flourish in their new business, Pool Scouts of the Wasatch Front!
