Marius originally launched the Yolo County location with a partner in 2005. After the partnership dissolved in 2016, he and Diana ran a ServiceMaster Restore location in Oregon. In 2017, the couple returned to Yolo County to take over operations and revive the business. While supporting disaster relief efforts in Texas in 2021, Marius suffered a heart attack. He made the decision to step down to focus on caring for the couple’s five children, and Diana took over the day-to-day operations of the business.

Kowanetz’s interest in franchising began as a new college graduate while working in financial services. He started in a sales role with a multi-brand franchise in Florida and has worked in that aspect of franchising for the past decade. Kowanetz comes to ServiceMaster Restore after three years as the Senior Director of Franchise Development for My Eyelab.
