Moving and Portable Storage Industry Lending a Hand to Habitat for Humanity
May 20, 2022 // FranchiseMarketingSolutions.com // OLATHE, Kansas – UNITS® Moving and Portable Storage of Kansas City is making space and stepping in to help Habitat for Humanity. Jim Becker, owner of UNITS Kansas City, is proud to be a part of the upcoming event – Rock the Block – a great cause designed to give back to those who need it most in the community he calls home.
Habitat for Humanity will be partnering with homeowners and volunteers for Rock the Block which aims to restore communities across the area – one block at a time. Volunteers will be tasked with completing much needed repairs of all shapes and sizes to homes throughout selected neighborhoods.
“We strive to enhance our community any way we can, and that includes being available when incredible initiatives like Rock the Block come around,” said Becker. “I’m thrilled to serve the citizens across the area and provide a space to assist the generous volunteers who are giving their time and energy to help others at this event.”
UNITS of Kansas City is donating 2 containers for storage purposes – providing the space needed for the 100 or so volunteers to store their supplies.
?The goal is to not only repair and improve 8-10 homes in the community, but also to restore pride in homeownership to the affected families the process. Rock the Block kicks off on May 21st.
“Habitat for Humanity of Kansas City is pleased to be holding a Rock the Block event in the Lakehurst neighborhood of Olathe on May 21st,” said Leslie Brady, the Construction Support Manager of Habitat for Humanity. “It’s incredibly gratifying seeing the community come together to revitalize the area.”
