A Place At Home Opens in Pueblo to Fill a Caregiving Service Gap

February 16, 2023 // FranchiseMarketingSolutions.com // PUEBLO, CO – A Place At Home celebrates the expansion of its caring and compassionate reach with the grand opening of A Place At Home – Pueblo. The new location opens Thursday, February 16, and is owned and operated by Bambi Creek. Creek has 40 years of nursing experience, including work as a hospice nurse and personal in-home care experiences with family members, making her the perfect provider for senior care in southern Colorado.

The A Place At Home franchise provides seniors with empathetic care that allows them to age in their homes. Locations offer families personalized guidance throughout the aging journey, from in-home care to care coordination, finding senior living alternatives, and providing staff solutions to area facilities.

Creek has first-hand experience with the home care service gap in the Pueblo and Freemont counties. Her father developed severe dementia and needed intensive care. Unfortunately, the disease made her father a bit aggressive making it challenging to find caregivers who would take care of him. At the same time, other companies she found charged an astronomical rate for in-home care.

“You could say we’ve had the worst-case scenario, so we understand what families are going through when it comes to finding care for their loved ones,” says Bambi. “I was working 70 hours a week for my own nursing and administration job, I couldn’t ask my kids to give up their time to help me, but they would still come over at night so I could get a few hours of sleep. Now through A Place At Home, I want to help families balance their own lives while caring for their loved ones.”

Creek opened A Place At Home – Pueblo as a place for her parents’ legacy to live on. It’s a family-run business, as Creek’s daughter, Caylyn, is the office manager. Caylyn has nearly a decade of experience working in the hospital setting.

As she starts this business, Creek is also working on finishing her doctoral dissertation that addresses supportive techniques for caregivers of persons with dementia while also working as a full-time hospice nurse. But she says if she could go back, she’d stay a certified nursing assistant because of the close connection you create with your patient.

“The most loving thing you can do for someone is something they can’t do for themselves. I hope to get back to those roots of that through this business. I chose non-medical care because we can assist families long-term. We can guide them through the unimaginable,” says Creek.

A Place At Home – Pueblo serves Pueblo, Avondale, Beulah, Boone, Canon City, Florence, Penrose, and Wetmore.

“The Pueblo community is in great hands with Bambi, and we’re thrilled to welcome her into our franchise family,” says Jerod Evanich, Co-Founder and President of A Place At Home. “She’s committed to providing compassionate care to seniors and their families in the area. Her personal and nursing experiences will set her apart from other providers in the city and allow her to connect with families going through challenging times.”
