March 13, 2024 // FranchiseMarketingSolutions.com // ALLEN, Texas – A Place At Home is thrilled to announce that the International Franchise Association (IFA) named franchise owner Joe Christie and 2023 Franchisee of the Year. Christie, owner and operator of A Place At Home – North Texas, was honored at the annual IFA conference in Phoenix in February.
“Getting the call about this respectable award was like a bolt of lightning – surprising, exciting, and affirming that we’re exactly where we need to be,” said Christie. “It validates the hard work of our team in North Texas and all the seniors we’re helping through the aging journey.”
The Franchisee of the Year Award recognizes leading franchise owners from IFA member brands whose outstanding performance and contributions help protect, enhance, and promote the franchise business model. Nominated by their parent company, individuals are selected for their involvement in their communities, embodying the entrepreneurial spirit, fostering a strong and healthy culture with their workforce, and assisting their fellow franchisees when called upon.
“Franchisees of the Year exemplify what franchising is all about – providing opportunity, serving others, and fulfilling the American Dream,” said Matthew Haller, president and CEO of the International Franchise Association. “We are proud to recognize Joe with the highest honor IFA awards to individual franchisees, and I have no doubt his work is changing lives and making a lasting community impact.”
The former sales executive in the hospitality industry and his wife joined the senior care industry after witnessing their parents’ struggles with aging and illness. Since opening their location in October 2019, Christie has earned several awards, including Home Care Pulse’s Provider and Employer of Choice several years in a row, the most-improved A Place At Home franchisee in revenue twice, and the highest margins within the franchise system.
“Joe embodies the essence of what A Place At Home is – compassion, dedication, and a commitment to providing the highest quality of care,” said Jerod Evanich, president and co-founder of A Place At Home. “His recognition as IFA Franchisee of the Year is well-deserved and reflects the positive impact they’ve made in the lives of many seniors in North Texas.”
